婆婆 had great trouble feeding me now that I am so much more mobile. It was fine in Shanghai as we had my yellow Bumbo seat. So 婆婆 invented a new "Bumbo" for me... She turned a small table upside down, placed some cushions at the back and sat me inside... Check this out...
Our Flight Back to Singapore

It was a relatively smooth trip back to Singapore last night... I did not get to sleep whilst waiting to board our flight even though it was past my bed time (usually around 9 plus at night), as it was too bright at the airport. I immediately slept during the take off and all the way until we collected our luggage back in Singapore. Mummy was totally tired out though. She had to carry me in and out of the bassinet, every time the "belt-up" sign lights up due to the turbulence. After a while, when she thought it was ok, she puts me back into the bassinet, that "belt-up" sign lit up again... It was really driving Mummy mad... Here are some shots Mummy took at the Shanghai and Singapore Changi Airport...

As Daddy is working in the dairy industry, both Daddy and Mummy have been following very closely to the news related to the recently scandal... It's amazing how fast the number of affected babies have risen, from the 600 plus when it was first announced to the current 54,000. Mummy saw this in the news today... A timeline of the entire scandal... It's really sad to think why some people can be so irresponsible and unethical...

After a long hesitation, Mummy finally decided to make this purchase. Of course, this doesn't come without Daddy's persistent nagging to say there is no need to get a new stroller. I have been using Rebecca's Aprica stroller since I came back from Singapore (Aunty Candy has kindly given it to us after Rebecca has outgrown it. Rebecca's almost 3 years old now.) So here it is... My new Combi stroller...

Check out the Combi website http://www.combi.com.cn/product-index1.asp on the model LT-2R for more details on its functions. Unfortunately, it's all in Mandarin... After all, we are in China... Hahaha...

Mummy was shocked when Daddy told her the latest news that happened in Wall Street yesterday. The collapse of Leh*** Bro*** Bank, the bought over of Mer*** Lyn** by Bank of Amer*** and the financial crisis in AI*. Then over here in China, there is the recent issue on banned melamine found in infants' milk powder of San** brand, causing the death of at least two babies and rising numbers of those affected (from the 400 at first to 1253 based on the latest news). All these bad news send financial markets around the world crashing...
Sometimes Mummy just thinks it's all a rat race. City dwellers get caught up in this rat race about the famous 5 Cs they always talk about in Singapore (Cash, car, condo etc) and perhaps in a lot of developed countries too. But it seems when suddenly such events happen, even cash you keep in the bank is unsafe. Seems to be such a joke. Do we now have to move to a cash basis, and keep all the cash under our pillows at home?
Mummy's been to Yunnan recently. The people in the mountains really led very simple and carefree lives. They do not worry about owning the latest design of BMW, the nicest apartment etc. But then again, they are probably worrying about whether they will enough for the next meal anot.
Such is the world we live in now... It's sad but it's very real... Maslow's hierachy of needs (once survival needs have been satisfied, you move on to satisfy self-actualization needs)... Daddy's been doing a lot of bible study lately and kept telling Mummy, maybe it's time we rethink about the priorities in our lives. After all, all the wealth that we work so hard towards accumulating cannot be brought away with us when the Lord calls for us to join Him in heaven.
For all those who are worried for Matt...
Matt has been on total breastfeeding since birth. We have also brought in milk powder from Singapore, for emergency needs. We have given him rice cereal (from trusted international brands) bought locally from trusted supermarkets since he was 6 months. However, to be on the safe side, we have decided to stock up all of his food from Singapore when we return to Singapore during the Oct holidays.

Here's some milestones that I have reached at 10 months:
- Waves goodbye
- Picks things up with pincer grasp
- Crawls well, with belly off the ground (Now crawls all over the house, even to weird corners and under tables and chairs)
- Says "mama" and "dada" to the correct parent (Unfortunately, Matt is still unable to do this yet)
- Indicates wants with gestures
- Stands alone for a couple of seconds (Matt can stand for a relatively long time unassisted now)
- Puts objects into a container (includes throwing balls that we give to him)

Can anyone guess what I am trying to do? Nowadays, I like to crawl into weird and small little corners... Every adult in the house now has trouble "chasing" after me... These are some photos Mummy took when I found myself at the corner of the living room under the side table. It's weird how I can't seem to "lift" up my head... Haha...

It was a long weekend due to the Mooncake Festival. Mummy had originally planned to take a short 2 days trip to somewhere. However, when we checked the weather forecast, we saw thunderstorms coming as a result of a typhoon in Taiwan... After our previous experience in Nanjing (where we were caught in the rain for almost the entire trip), we have decided to not take the chance. So we went to somewhere near. 崇明岛 is like Singapore's Sentosa... Check out some of our photos...
For some reason, I couldn't get my hands off the Coke bottle that Mummy gave me to play with. Maybe it's cos it was a bit warm during the day, so the "chilly" Coke bottle chills me off...
Standing in style... It was so windy that I had "trouble" balancing myself...

Totally uncomfortable... Mummy put me on a grass patch and I refuse to move... See where my hands are... And the expression on my face...
